More than a regatta

Sunset Com Elas is an event that seeks to promote the practice of kitesurfing among women and integrate a more active participation in society among its various aspects. The meeting takes place at Praia do Preá, next to Jericoacora, in the state of Ceará, encouraging women from various parts of Brazil and the world to participate for the first time in a kite event, expanding horizons, creating connections, developing new skills and leading these women to participate in other competitions and to become interested in and improve even more in the sport. There are already 10 editions carried out, 2 editions per year during the second semester (period of high wind season in the coastal region of Ceará).

Competition

The main activity of the event is a regatta (kite race) of approximately 12 km from Praia do Preá to the entrance to Jericoacoara. Being a short stretch, and easy, providing the participation of people who are still beginners in the sport. This competition is made up of three categories: beginner, intermediate and advanced. The first 3 placed in each category go up to the podium and receive an award. Our structure is set up to have an average of 30 to 50 participants in the competition. Our priority is to ensure everyone's safety, so we have support vehicles and experienced guides on the water to solve any type of problem that may arise.

Activities

During the event, we held clinics and workshops for women to have access to other categories within the immensity of the world of kitesurfing, and also to work on issues of physical and mental well-being through practices such as pilates, yoga, functional, massage, meditation, lectures, self-knowledge and much more!

We highlight the free kite workshops for local women, we offer the first three hours of the course so that women can have their first contact with kite, and we raffled off a complete course among the participants, all with the aim of encouraging the participation of more women from the community in sport.

Party

After the competition we started the party. From the sunset we have live music and the presence of Djs to brighten the night. Closing with the awarding of the athletes makes all participants get even more involved in the event and thus we ended the day with great success.
